Ethan Rinks, Program manager for Europe at the State Department's Bureau of Political-Military Affairs, in scope of his visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina and meetings with BiH and international officials in the area of ​​dealing with surplus weapons and ammunition and mine action.

The meeting with Mr. Rinks was attended by Amel Fako, Political-Military Affairs Advisor and Coordinator for Mine Action at the US Embassy in BiH, Suvad Džafić, Member of the BiH Demining Commission, Sasa Obradovic, BHMAC Director, and Damir Sisic, Assistant BHMAC Support Director.

The United States is financing the “Sarajevo Without Mines 2020” project, which aims to free the entire area of ​​the City of Sarajevo and the City of East Sarajevo from mines by 2020. At the meeting, attendees were briefed about ongoing activities on this project and according to the established plan. They also discussed cooperation with ITF Enhancing Human Security through which the United States finances mine clearance projects in BiH.
