A one-day workshop on the topic of current experiences in the application of the Land Release method, and recommendations for the improvement of this technique in future actions, has started in Sarajevo. The workshop was organized in cooperation with the Geneva Center for Humanitarian Demining, and supported by the German government, and will discuss the results of the General Assessment of Mine Suspected Areas in Bosnia and Herzegovina project, and the establishment of a new database of the Mine Action Center in BiH, as key preconditions for achieving maximum results, in accordance with the plans and obligations prescribed by domestic and international obligations, and guided by very limited available funds for this purpose.

The workshop will also deal with the issue of existing legislation, planning and tasking, along with challenges for achieving maximum efficiency and effectiveness of the mine clearance process in our country.

The workshop is organized at the Hotel Evropa, in accordance with all prescribed epidemiological measures to combat the risks in the form of hazards caused by the existence of COVID-19.
