In cooperation with the Norwegian People's Aid from Bosnia and Herzegovina and Laos, representatives of National Regulatory Authority of People Democratic Republic of Laos, visited BHMAC today. Laos is another country, heavy contaminated with landmines and cluster munitions, which has not acceded to the Convention on the Prohibition of AP Mines, but is a member of the Convention on the Prohibition of Cluster Munitions and makes maximum efforts to implement all the obligations resulting from signing it.

During the visit, respected guests were introduced with the system of mine action structures in our country, as well as the role of BHMAC, along with the oncoing efforts in eliminating remaining mines and ERW.

Although Laos has not yet acceded to the Mine Ban Convention, they strongly promote it, and conducts clearance operations, while representatives of Laos attend meetings of member states as observers.
