At the invitation of the Anti-Personnel Mine Ban convention Implementation Support Unit from Geneva, today was held an online meeting with members of the Committee on Article 5 implementation.

This bilateral meeting was attended by the Chair of the Committee from Zambia as well as members of the committee which includes representatives of Norway, Belgium and Sri Lanka, a representative of the Bosnia and Herzegovina Permanent Mission in Geneva and Director of Bosnia and Herzegovina Mine Action Centre.

The aim of the meeting is to share information regarding our State’s progress in implementation of our mine clearance obligations under Article 5 ahead of deadline for the submission of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Article 7 Report.

Director Saša Obradović has presented the current mine situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the results of the project ‘’The general assessment of mine suspected areas in Bosnia and Herzegovina’’ during which was achieved significant progress in the implementation of the Bosnia and Herzegovina Mine Action Strategy, as well as the results of implementation of certain activities from Oslo Action Plan .

Representatives of the Committee have expressed their great satisfaction with the presentation of the activities and progress of Bosnia and Herzegovina in fulfilling the obligations under the Ottawa Convention.

Bosnia and Herzegovina Mine Action Centre continues to regularly report to the members of the Committee about the ongoing activities and the results achieved.
