In order to intensify efforts to meet the set deadlines, and the urgency to complete the planned activities in reaching the mine-free country by 2025, the Committee for the Improvement of Cooperation and Assistance to the Convention on the Prohibition of Anti-Personnel Mines developed Individual approach in “facilitating the strengthening of partnerships between States Parties seeking assistance and those able to provide such assistance”.

Taking advantage of the Individualized Approach, an online meeting was held on Thursday, November 12, 2020, with the participation of representatives from majority of leading domestic and foreign institutions involved in mine action in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Bosnia and Herzegovina, with the support of the Committee, in organizing this type of meeting aimed to initiate an open discussion on the current status of its mine action program, bringing together all those who want to accompany Bosnia and Herzegovina on the way to finalizing the remaining obligations under the Convention.

In this regard, the meeting actively discussed approaches to resolving the remaining mine situation in BiH, as well as ways to help and overcome the upcoming challenges.
