The annual meeting of the Ottawa Convention (Convention on the Prohibition of the Use, Stockpiling, Production and transportation of anti-personnel mines and their destruction) started today in Geneva and will last for two days. This meeting is an opportunity for all member states of the Ottawa Convention to assess the implementation of the Maputo Action Plan 2014-2019 and to report on how they implement the key provisions of the Convention as well as to share current challenges they face and the objectives to be fulfilled by the Fourth Review Conference.

The second day will be devoted to the joint report GICHD and UNDP and sustainable development goals called “Leaving No One Behind: Mine Action and the Sustainable Development Goals”.

In the name of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina, meeting in Geneva is attended by Asim Dorović, Counselor at the Permanent Mission of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the United Nations and Sasa Obradovic, Director of the Mine Action Center in BiH.
