Delegation of Japanese Embassy discussed about demining in Velika Kladu�a

Delegation of Japanese Embassy in BiH consisting of Joshiaki Makino, the First Secretary and the Chief of Department for Economic Cooperation and grant credits and Tomoko Koseko, Coordinator of GAGP Project in Bosnia and Herzegovina, visited Velika Kladu�a today. They have met with municipality representatives in order to talk about the implementation of planned demining projects within their municipality.

EUFOR continued support to Mine Awareness activities

EUFOR Mine Information Coordination Center (MICC) in cooperation with NGO �Stop Mines� has organized five day Basic Mine Awareness course in period 24-28 October 2011. The course is supported and approved by BHMAC and it is being held in EUFOR Butmir Base premises in Sarajevo.

New Year reception for media representatives

In order to summarize the results achieved in 2010 and to present the activities planned for 2011, Mine Action Center in BiH hosted New Year's reception for media representatives. The Director Dusan Gavran thanked for correct reporting and cooperation with the media and reminded again medias of a few statistical data and why mine action is still one of the essential priorities for the authorities and citizens of BiH.

One person seriously injured in Pelagi�evo

Today around 12 pm, in the municipality of Pelagicevo, Tramo�nica region, there was a mine accident in which one person was seriously injured. The accident occurred while working with an excavator, when AT mine was activated.

On December 19, 2010 in the area of Mati�i, Ora�je municipality, there was a mine accident in which one person was killed. The accident occurred during the hunting at the location which was known to be a mine suspect area.

On December 16, 2010 Mine Action Center in BiH was visited by �ur�a Adle�i�, representative of Croatian Assembly, Zdravko Modrusan, director of Croatian Mine Action Center, and Dorijan Mar�i�, director of International Trust Fund for Demining and Mine Victims Assistance from Slovenia. Exceptional cooperation in the past period and expectations for its continuation in the future were emphasized at the today's meeting.

Mine action communication substrategy Workshop

In line with the strategic objective 6, Mine Action in BiH for the period 2009 - 2019. which refers to the development of Mine Action Communication Sub strategy, in the period 14-16.12.2010. workshop on the preparation of this document was held in the premises of EUFOR, Camp Butmir, Sarajevo.
The organizer of the Workshop is BHMAC in cooperation with EUFOR and UNDP BiH, Sarajevo.

Demining of Pretis NIS in Vogo��a officially commenced today

Austrian Ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina Mr. Donatus Kock, today opened demining task at the site of Pretis NIS, in the municipality of Vogosca.
This is an area of 51 340 m2 and it is one of the locations that are being implemented through the International Trust Fund for Demining and Mine Victims Assistance / ITF.
