The 23rd Meeting of the Directors of Mine Action Centers and UN Advisers takes place in Geneva from 11-14 February 2020. This event addresses the issue of the impact of mine action on humans and the planet in general with a focus on the best solutions, commitment from all actors involved and, on inevitable timely action as of utmost importance for all countries affected by the mine and UXO problem. Meeting also represents an opportunity for connection and exchange experiences in order to find the best possible solution for finalizing this issue and reaching a mine-free country.
Sasa Obradovic, Director of the BiH Mine Action Center, during his discussions with other participants in the meeting, emphasized our country's commitment for final elimination of the threat caused by mines and UXO, and how much obstacle these devices pose to citizens’ security and development of the country in general. Also, the enormous progress of BiH in all aspects of mine action and the importance of cooperation and support of all entities involved in this issue are outlined.
